The Child & Family Foster Care Program has been designed to provide temporary placement for children and adolescents whose family circumstances do not provide a nurturing or safe environment. Foster Families have a positive impact on the lives of children and teens who have been placed in state care, and who are most in need of a structured family-like environment. The Child & Family Foster Care Program has been designed for children and teens ages 6-18 who have been placed in the custody of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families. Children and teens in foster care have a varying degree of needs that are associated with the reasons for their placement including emotional, psychological, medical and/or developmental. Child & Family will work closely with the Aquidneck Island Community to recruit families that are suitable, and will provide a safe, stable and caring environment for these children and teens.
